A good banner will provide key information on what the company is advertising, encouraging (but no tricking) users, to click through to your website or landing page. The banner should include your logo, as well as a possible images of your services or products.
It depends from the specification of the platform.
For example, in Google Ads (before it was Google AdWords) every animation will have up to 30 seconds length. According to Google: “animated ads are restricted to a maximum of 30 seconds (at a 15-20 fps frame rate), after which point they must remain static.”
You may request changes such as text positioning, color, animated frame positioning, etc. But you may not request changes made to the overall animation, nor may you request a complete re-write of the animation. This will be considered a different project and normal fees will be charged.
There are many good platforms. In our opinion, for display campaigns the Google DoubleClick is one of the best (a lot better than Google Ads). It allows to use 200KB Rich Media banners (about 180KB is for assets), so the quality can be very high. In Google Ads you have only 150KB where assets are limited to approximately 110KB.
Vector graphics are definitely the best - they provide high quality with low file size. However, it also requires more time to work on it. When using Google Ads, it's best to use only vector graphics. On platforms such as Google DoubleClick, you can easily use both.
